OceanWings is bringing its innovative wind assisted propulsion technology to Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) 2026, at the France Pavilion, at the Booth A16 in the Expo Theatre.
- On April 21, OceanWings will lead a roundtable alongside Jifmar (shipowner) and Bureau Veritas Marine (Singapore): “Canopée RORO: Three Years of sailing with OceanWings - Feedback from the Shipowner.”
- On April 22, OceanWings will participate in French-Singaporean Maritime Roundtable Discussion & Networking Event to connect, exchange, and drive the energy transition forward.
During the SMW 2026 (April 21-24), Emmanuel Schalit (CEO), Christophe Paillusseau (VP Sales Marketing), and Fabien Lecuona (APAC business consultant) will be present on site at the Booth N° A16 in French Pavillion at the Expo theatre.
April 21: Roundtable on Operational Performance of Canopée
On April 21 (Tuesday), Emmanuel Schalit will participate in the roundtable discussion “Canopée RORO: Three Years of sailing with OceanWings - Feedback from the Shipowner” alongside Jean-Michel Berud (CEO of Jifmar Group) and Koh Yong-Ping (Chief Executive of Bureau Veritas Marine Singapore).
The high-level discussion will show the operational performance of Canopée—a newbuild RoRo equipped with OceanWings®. It will also highlight the critical role of wind assisted propulsion systems in contributing to fuel saving amid fuel price volatility and increasing regulatory pressures.
Nearly 3 years after the installation, operational data of Canopée confirms average fuel savings of 1.3 tonnes per day per wingsail, equivalent to around 300kW of engine power.
During the session, Jean-Michel Berud will share his firsthand insights from OceanWings®. The roundtable will then expand to the broader themes, including fuel price volatility and geopolitical tensions, and discuss how wind-assisted propulsion systems could be a game changer for the maritime industry.
April 22: French-Singaporean Maritime Roundtable Discussion & Networking Event
On April 22 (Wednesday), OceanWings will participate in French-Singaporean Maritime Roundtable Discussion & Networking Event.
The discussion brings together government representatives, industry leaders, and key stakeholders across Europe and Asia to share the most pressing challenges of the industry. The event features two panel discussion, with OceanWings contributing to the first panel: “Charting the course of the energy transition in global shipping.”
Amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, fuel prices are increasingly volatile. Despite the absence of IMO measures in the short term, regional initiatives —such as the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and Singapore’s Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD)— are important catalysts for accelerating concrete decarbonization actions.
The session will be organized by the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, the Embassy of France in Singapore, the French Ministry of the Sea, and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. It will bring together representatives from GTT, CMA CGM, Société Générale, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels, among others. The event provides a valuable opportunity to discuss the key dimensions of maritime decarbonization and strengthen international collaboration among different parties.
